If you are interested in private classes delivered in the comfort of your own home, the cost is $995 incl GST.

If you are planning a Caesarean birth, then The Positive Caesarean Program is recommended. This is a 4 hour course offered privately for each couple. The cost is $420 incl GST.

Do I need a referral to see your psychologist?

You do not need a referral to access psychology services. However, if you would like to access Medicare rebates for Clinical Psychology, you will need to see your GP for an assessment for an eligible Mental Health Care Plan. Amy is also eligible to provide Non-Directive Pregnancy counselling on receipt of a letter from your GP.

Couples counselling is not an eligible psychological service under Medicare Mental Health Care plans. Therefore, they unfortunately are not eligible for a rebate.

How much are your Psychology fees?

A 60-minute Clinical Psychology session (for individual or couples) is $260 ($275 from 15/7/24).

EMDR appointments are typically 90 minutes for $375 ($395 from 15/7/24).

If you have an eligible Mental Health Care Plan for individual therapy, the rebate is $137.05 ($141.85 from 1/7/24).

A 60-minute Non-Directive Pregnancy Support counselling session is $200. The Medicare rebate for this service is $68.45 ($70.85 as of 1/7/24).

Fees are payable in full at the time of your appointment. We are able to process any eligible rebates through our practice software system at the same time.

Can I claim a rebate from my private health fund?

You will need to check with your provider if Clinical Psychology services are available under your policy and how much will be covered.

As the Hypnobirthing AustraliaTM classes are child birth education, they are not eligible for a Clinical Psychology rebate.

What if I forget my appointment or need to cancel at the last minute?

We will do our best to remind you and confirm your appointment with you ahead of time (we do understand baby brain after all!).

However, it is important to prioritise your appointments. If you do need to reschedule, however, please contact us at least 24 hours before your appointment so we may offer your spot to another person in need.

Please familiarise yourself with our cancellation and “no show” policy which is also stated in our consent form. If you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment and we are unable to fill that appointment, you will be charged a $100 late cancellation fee. If you fail to attend at your scheduled time (“no show”) you will be charged the full amount for the appointment.

Do you provide any face to face Clinical Psychology services?

At this time, Wise Perinatal Services “Wise Woman” psychology services are all online via Telehealth or telephone. Should some face to face sessions be necessary (e.g. for Eye-Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing: EMDR) then Amy can arrange access to a therapy space in Maylands.

We are on the lookout for the right space suitable for both therapy and Hypnobirthing AustraliaTM classes. Keep an eye on our social media for any updates!

What do I need to have in order to access a Telehealth session?

You will need an appropriate device with camera and sound capability and a secure, reliable internet connection. Please ensure that you are in a private, quiet space and will not be interrupted for the duration of the session.

We will provide the Telehealth platform. We will send you the link to use at the time of your appointment.

The privacy of any form of communication via the internet is potentially vulnerable and limited by the security of the technology used. To support the security of your personal information this practice uses Doxy.me which is compliant with the Australian standards for online security and encryption.
